Standard Features CONSTRUCTION The design and the construction of the CNB 64? meets or exceeds all of the strict regulations for plan and structure approval of Bureau Veritas, ?YACHT/P.R.V.T.? certification. Conceived and executed to unlimited oceanic, Category 1 Navigation requirements by the French Maritime authorities. This grand yacht is built utilizing the most stringent controls. Hull and Deck Structure Hull: The hull is cored with 20 and 30mm balsa with alternate layers of 450g to 800g fiberglass for optimum spreading of loads. The sandwich is impregnated by vacuum infusion with vinylester resin. Deck: The deck is a balsa sandwich composition, 20 and 30mm thick, with solid glass cloth reinforcements in high load zones around winches, rails, chainpiates, padeyes, and stoppers. Main bulkheads are multi layered type 3 marine plywood, from 19 to 23 mm thick, bonded to the hull and deck. A watertight ?crash? compartment is formed forward by a structural bulkhead of 19mm marine plywood, laminated to the hull and deck, and then injected with polyurethane, closed cell foam. The hull and deck are finished with white gel-coat as standard. Hull Inner The structural inner liner/grid is a monolithic molding, laminated to the hull. It absorbs all athwartships and longitudinal loads, and it is constructed of unidirectional specialized fiberglass, mat and roving. The chainplates are linked to the structural grid. The engine and generator beds are integrated into the liner also. Keel The keel is of dual composition: a cast iron keel blade and an antimony hardened lead bulb with winglets. It provides excellent stability and performance without increasing draft. At the keel to hull joint, the keel has a wide flat surface for better athwartship load spread. It is fixed to the hull with 24 stainless steel bolts of 30mm diameter tightened over 12mm thick stainless backing plates. |
