Construction
Built by Northshore in 1978 - hull and superstructure are heavy duty GRP mouldings. 12 inch high bulwarks are incorporated in the mouldings and are sheathed externally with teak. The capping and all external trim is teak.
The internal joinery is teak, or teak veneered plywood, with formica around the galley and heads.
The iron ballast keel is fitted internally and glassed over.
Note: Hull appears pretty good - just requiring a maintenance catch-up. Internally - all appears good and dry.
Engines
Volvo Penta MD17C - 36 hp - 3 cylinder 4 stroke marine diesel. Cooling is by thermostat-controlled sea water. The engine will need a full professional overhaul.
Stern tube, shaft, propeller (fixed 2-blade) and underwater rudder fittings are of bronze.
Stern gear
Tiller and wheel steering. Rudder is GRP with bronze stock and fittings, operated by a heavy duty Morse cable in conduit system. Above water fittings on the rudder are stainless steel.

Tankage

Accommodation
Wheelhouse: Fully enclosed with wheel-steering, engine controls and electrics. Good access to engine space from removable wheelhouse, with treadmaster-covered - sole. Has large clear perspex panel in the roof for visual on sails. Hinged helm seat and seating for two to starboard with stowage locker underneath.
Saloon: L-shaped seating for six which converts to a double berth. Good stowage. Quarter berth to starboard aft (stowage under), with folding chart table above and chart stowage - and of course, more space in the wheelhouse. Deck mounted ventilation.
Galley: This in linear and to starboard in the saloon. Sink with taps. Space for gimballed two-hob cooker, with a work top that fits over. Ice box and good galley stowage.
Forward: Good-sized hanging locker forward of the galley with heads opposite to port with basin and taps. Toilet is currently a portapotty type, and would probably need replaced with a conventional marine toilet.
Fore cabin:Two V-berths with stowage under. Opening ports in coach roof and a opening hatch in deckhead. Chain locker at fore end.
Note: Head and hull foam-backed linings would probably all need replaced. Upholstery and foam would all need replaced.
Rig and Sails
Masthead ketch rig with gold anodized aluminium alloy spars by Kemp. Furler for head sail.
Standing rigging - all will need checking and/or replaced probably.
Sails are all by Arun. Main, mizzen, genoa on furler and jib. Storm jib not seen. Two of the present sails are good - other need a detailed check. (more detail on the sails to follow)
Running rigging - probably all needs replaced.
On Deck
Aft cockpit is smallish but functional. It's self-draining through 2 x 1 1/2" drains - both with seacocks. Teak grating on the sole and teak seating on either side, with open stowage underneath. The aft peak has a lazerette locker with a removable hatch cover for easy access. Gas locker is by sliding door to wheelhouse. The sliding door probably needs replaced. Tiller position on aft peak.
Manual windlass with stainless steel bow roller with chaffing plate. Chaffing plates fitted to fairleads. Conventional stainless steel bollards.
Much of the Treadmaster on deck needs renewing
Electrical
12v with charging from alternator and portable battery charger. Single battery.
Switchboard in wheelhouse
Gastec safety unit.
Note:Electrics probably need a good overhaul
Navigation kit
Seafarer 701 Echo sounder - not tested.
