Description
"DRIE GEBROEDERS", meaning 'Three brothers' is a Dutch Sailing Barge built in 1898 that has been recently and lovingly restored to an operational sailing and liveaboard vessel.
The current owner purchased her in 2014 in the Netherlands, had some preparatory work done, then she was sailed across to England in 2015 for a more extensive refit.
The refit included a complete re-wiring, new gel batteries, new galvanic isolation system, diesel tank cleaned and twin fuel filters fitted. The gas system has also been upgraded.

Construction
Originally built in 1898 at the Van Duivendijk yard in Krimpen a/d Ijssel - probably one of the oldest shipyards in the Netherlands, and part of a shipbuilding operation that had 35 yards at one stage.
Much work has been done to her since 2000 - with the last 5 years being the "icing on the cake" for this historic old lady.
The condition of the hull is understood to be good. She was last dry-docked in 2017 and had a complete strip back below the water line and a 2-part epoxy applied before antifouling.
Last survey was done in late 2014.

Accommodation
Will sleep six with two double cabins forward of the saloon and two single berths from the seating in the saloon. The interior has a charming cottage-style feel to it.
Below decks is accessed via a companionway from the aft deck and steering position, which gives way to a large open plan galley area and saloon. The interior renovation has been done using eco-friendly paints and William Morris inspired fabrics.
Large saloon area with L-shaped seating with a solid fuel stove as a focus. It also benefits from a central butter-fly hatch which adds plenty of light.
The galley area has plenty of space and storage and incorporates a conventional gas cooker with hob and oven by Boretti. There is plumbing for a washing machine.
Both cabins have plenty or storage and are well lit and ventilated.
Heads with separate shower and basin.
Exterior sliding shutters to the raised deckhouse/galley area.
There is a forepeak storage room accessed from the front cabin and via a deck hatch. This space also contains the water tankage.
The machinery space aft is accessed vis double doors under the companionway.
